 At present we need volunteers who are seasoned practitioners only:
- Midwives
- Nurse-practitioners
- Physicians
- Dentists
Applicants should have the following:
- Conversational and medical Spanish language skills.
- Be willing to make a commitment of a minimum of 1 month visit.(shorter stays may be considered with an on- going committment.)
 The following skills are needed:
- Direct care in clinic or at local hospital ( primary care & specialties)
- Assisting ACAM Midwives in developing and implementing apprenticeship program
- Workshops with midwives on various topics of Midwifery & health.
- Trainings in biomedical skills ( ex: basic laboratory skills; IV’s; use of medications; pelvic exams)
- Teaching computer skills
- Assistance in developing:
- Laboratory
- Dental clinic
- Programs
- Environmental issues
- Pollution
- Alternatives to pesticide use
- Solar energy
- Organic farming
At this time we are not able to provide experience for North American student midwives or for those wishing to observe Maya Midwifery.
